Matt Witbreuk

Matt is the former Head Coach & Director of WSSC West. Matt began his time with WSSC after being in the first ever WSSC internship program ran at WSSC Moorabbin. At this point in Matts’ career he had already almost 2 years of private coaching experience in other private settings. The WSSC internship was a pivotal moment in Matt’s career, which is where his passion for coaching athletes to improve their physical performance began an exponential journey. With an extensive background in basketball and athletics, Matt has a keen interest in improving his athletes strength, power and speed.

Since completing a variety of jumping, plyometric and power-orientated programs to improve his basketball performance since the age of 15, some with dire consequences on the joints, Matt has been passionate about providing safe, effective and holistic programs to set his athletes up for a lifetime of success in a sporting environment. Matt also has hands on coaching and work experience in the AFL, having worked in Sport Science at Essendon FC as well as having multiple roles in Division 1 VAFA (Victorian Amateur AFL) and Division 1 Big V (Victorian) Basketball.
